compares brains in hopes of getting a PhD.

about

hi there,

I’m a physicist tuned neuroscientist living in a relatively small town called Nijmegen, in the Netherlands. For someone who always ran as far as possible from anything biology, this conversion rather happened unexpectedly and my brain is convinced that this quote had something to do with it.

Here is this 3 pound mass of jelly
you can hold in the palm of your hand,
and it can comtemplate the vastness of interstellar space,
it can comtemplate the meaning of infinity,
and it can comtemplate itself comtemplating on the meaning of infinity.

- Vilayanur Ramachandran, TEDtalks 2007 [link]

While I work as a PhD researcher at the Donders Institute during the day, I like thinking about education, science communication, and technology by night. If you’re wondering what that might look like and why leave physics for neuroscience, you could read this interview that appeared in the Donders PhD newsletter, for a series called “The Life of …”. Feel free to click around or say, hi.
